We here at Thirst Quencher Neckware love beer. On our many adventures, we like to pit stop at breweries, bars and other beer-centric places.
We repeatedly noticed the lack of gear, clothing and accessories for women at the places we visited. Even most of the t-shirts were cut for males.
According to the Brewers Association, women make up 32% of the craft beer revolution and we saw the lack of female-focused merchandise as an opportunity to promote the female beer lover.
So Thirst Quencher Neckware was created. A beer cap with an artistic logo caught the eye of photographer Lisa Winn, our product line designer.
She carried around this beer cap for weeks everywhere she went. It soon felt like a good luck charm also reminding her of playing a childhood game in the Bronx called Skully that required collecting bottle caps.
What others may have thought of as trash, she knew she had to find a way to upcycle the beer cap into a collectible keepsake.
Lisa had an epiphany-design a line of necklaces. She taught herself how to use jewelry-making tools and findings to turn her ideas into wearable art. After reworking a few concept designs and refining her jewelry making skills, Lisa settled on a design for the recyclables. She tested out her necklaces by wearing her own fashion creations. To her surprise, she received many compliments and questions from people wanting a necklace with their favorite beers’ bottle cap.
With all the positivity Lisa gathered, she decided to follow her heart and thirst for beer launching her micro business at the 2012 Atlantic City Beerfest, one of the largest beer events on the US east coast.
Now the product line also includes: earrings, bracelets, barrettes, purses made from bottle caps, as well as a selection of bottle openers, socks and more.
Wearing Thirst Quencher Neckware quickly identifies your craft beer pride and brand loyalty. The fashionable beer jewelry will capture attention from beer enthusiasts to beer snobs and are great conversation starters.
